DAILY ROUTINE FOR THE UNDER TWOS

 

 

8.00am Meet, greet and settle children.
9.30am Wash Hands. breakfast snack
10.00am to 11.30am The children are free to choose from a variety of activities set up in the garden area, main room or art area to meet their age and stage of development
10.30am

Main nappy change time (ongoing throughout the day as needed)

11.00am Drink time (water also available throughout the day)
12.00pm Wash hands, lunch 
12.30pm

Sleep time, free play for non-sleepers or when they wake up

3.00pm Wash hands, fruit snack
3.20pm Song bag & story time
3.30pm Free play – inside and out.  Main nappy change time
4.30pm Hand washing,  tea time
5.00pm Free play / adult led activity
5.45 to 6.00pm Home time

Throughout the day, staff will incorporate any other nap times and nappy changes required.  They will find opportunities to include stories and singing, and also some adult led activities such as an art activity, messy/sensory play or an activity aimed at the older children (18m+).  Children are encouraged to help tidy up at the end of free play sessions and begin to develop their independence e.g. by finding their own coat to put on or making choices in their play.

 

DAILY ROUTINE FOR THE PRE-SCHOOL

8.00am Parents drop children off in the lobby, free play across all areas
8.45am School Drop Off
9.15am Tidy up time followed by music and movement activity
9.30am Wash hands then breakfast snack – Red Kites in garden room, Yellow Chicks in main room
09.50am Bird Group Time – Leading into free flow activities
10.30am

Garden/patio open for free play for all

Main nappy change time

11.35am Tidy up time
11.45am Bird group
12.00pm Wash hands then lunchtime – Red Kites in the garden room, Yellow Chicks in the main room
12.40pm TV Time
1.00pm Sleep Time/free play/nappy changes
2.45pm Bird group time
3.00pm Wash hands then fruit snack time 
3.15pm School squad return
3.20pm

Free play – inside and out, art activity generally available in the garden room

4.15pm Tidy up time, singing/story
4.30pm

Wash hands then teatime – Preschool all together

5.00pm Free Play
5.45 to 6.00pm Home time

 

At free play times, staff may set up a variety of resources / activities to meet individual/group needs and interests or children are encouraged to take              responsibility for their own play and access our flexible resources for themselves.  Adults carry out observations and assessments throughout the day and interact with the children accordingly.
